After a crazy day at Disney the day before, this was the day to recuperate and rest. The adults slept till 10am while the kids at almost 11am. We were checking out of Hotel Gracery Shinjuku and checking into Hyatt Regency Tokyo on New Year’s Eve.
View from room #3033 at Gracery
I just thought we should be staying at a nice hotel, instead of a budget hotel, over the New Year. Plus, this hotel bore a special meaning as it was the same hotel we stayed when Z first travelled to Japan in June 2010. It was also an airport limousine bus stop which was convenient and seamless for us on the last day when we might have more luggage.
Wonder what he was checking in the new room
We took the Hyatt shuttle bus back to Shinjuku JR station and walked to Takashimaya.
We headed to the famed Katsukura for lunch.
To be honest, I preferred Tonkatsu in Singapore. Somemore, the katsu were not as crispy and even turned soggy fast.
Heading to the cab stand at the East Gate
We cabbed to Omotesando from Shinjuku at 1540yen but unfortunately, this was closed for 5 days over New Year!
Where we settled for Tea Break in the end. This looked so Parisian!
Mega toy dog outside Ted Baker
Walking back to hotel after missing the last shuttle at 2150h, no thanks to my shopping spree at the drugstore.
